GIVING BACK TO IMMIGRANTS

When I'm not community organizing or baking a new recipe, I am advocating for the environment. Being green is a part of my philosophy, and something I use to guide my future trajectories. Since beginning my journey in this field, my dedication to the work and motivation to grow have led me to exceptional projects and experiences.

Having studied environmental health sciences, I have also seen the not-so-pretty side of the environment, in particular natural disasters. One of my projects during summer 2019 was measuring the impact a Malibu, CA fire had on the immigrant workers (nannies, maids, farmers, etc). I developed a disaster-preparedness pamphlet that outlined resources throughout Los Angeles County available to immigrants.
